TAKE TWO – SECOND TRADELINKS PROGRAMME SECURES £3M TO ASSIST CROSS BORDER MICRO ENTERPRISES

The Tradelinks Programme is currently supporting, Newry client SIMM Enviromental Ltd. Through the support provided to SIMM, local businesses and consumers will benefit from a move towards self-regulation by leading companies within the waste water treatment sector in Northern Ireland. SIMM is a new collaboration between members of the water treatment industry supply chain seeking to represent and regulate the industry.

Two companies supported by Roe Valley Enterprises, namely the Kevin Watson Group and T McLaughlin & Sons have recently been successful in gaining accreditation for implementing quality systems through the Tradelinks 2 Programme.

A large turnout of small businesses from across Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland came to Larne for an opportunity to meet with buyers from the public and private sectors.

The Tradelinks 2 Cross Border Networking Event, aimed at providing local businesses throughout Northern Ireland and the Border Counties of ROI with an opportunity to build links with potential new customers and suppliers, both North and South of the Border, was held recently at the Killyhelvin Hotel, Enniskillen.

A Business Development Programme being run by Cookstown Enterprise Centre is proving very popular with local businesses. The Tradelinks Programme is funded by the European Union’s INTERREG IVA Programme and is delivered locally by Cookstown Enterprise Centre.

T McLaughlin & Sons Ltd., a family business established in 1965 with extensive experience of civil engineering, demolition, haulage and plant hire has recently secured 18 months work on a Social Housing Development Project in Derry.

Over 150 organisations took part in a highly successful cross-border trade event in Monaghan on Wednesday, 28th September 2011.

The management excellence of Enterprise Northern Ireland (ENI) has been rewarded as the organisation was named the ‘Outstanding Training Provider’ at the prestigious Chartered Management Institute awards in central London. Enterprise Northern Ireland is the Lead Partner for the Tradelinks 2 programme.

The 2012 Startup Awards in association with Vodafone Ireland will take place on Thursday, May 24th 2012 at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin
